Peggy R.

After finally realizing her jobs always surrounded design, space planning, and creative solutions, Peggy knew she had to go back to school, again. Peggy R. graduated with her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design with honors from the International Academy of Design and Technology in 2013. She has been passionate for interior design and designing for others for many years. Peggy is most happy when she is creating in fact, she is always designing something. Designing furniture and spaces gives her the ability to share her passion for life. She feels it is important to surround yourself with things that you love and that your space functions comfortably and efficiently. Peggy keeps up on the newest design trends by attending annual design markets and events. People always ask how to describe her design style, however she does not have a specific “design” style because creating designs for all types of clients keeps her creative juices flowing and brings her more joy then designing for the same client style over and over.

From where do you draw most of your inspiration?

I am inspired by life. The beauty of every breath we take, every view our eyes explore, each sound we hear, and the variety of textures we touch is an incredible blessing and is what inspires me to design. Almost everyone has a different definition as to what perceives beauty to oneself. Each project is different as is each and every client. Therefore, I love to get to know what colors, textures and visual elements which brings peace, joy and happiness to my client. Once I can do that, then I feel that I have all the pieces to create a beautiful functioning space my client can enjoy. Life is so beautiful and I love creating spaces my clients, my friends, can feel as if they are walking into a hug that makes them feel safe, brings joy and happiness, and is an environment that is calm and relaxing.

We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?

My favorite thing about designing is taking my client's vision and making it a reality. I especially love a challenge. It could be the budget, it could be something far out of the ordinary, or it could be something like a husband and wife design conflict. This is where I do my best work. I have to pull out of the depths of my creative chest of tools and tricks and find a solution that makes everyone happy. I love that! I must admit though, I do like to push the client a little out of what they think is their comfort zone, only to find out that they are happy that I did. I believe every room needs a touch of the unexpected.

What drives you to design?

My passion and love for life and people drive me to design. I have always been a people pleaser and with design I can create a beautiful space for one to enjoy and a place which also bring them comfort, no matter the budget or where one is in the “journey of life”. A personal space should be a haven, a safe place. If you surround yourself with things you love and your space functions properly then you can cross off one stress factor in your life. In fact, I like to create spaces that hug you when step in that door, a space that generates peace and relaxation, in which can relieve some of your daily stress.
