As an architect with a focus in Interior Design, Megan's passion lies on the experience of space and how people engage within it. She creates a fluid relationship between the structure of the space and the interiors it houses. Her work experience is in both commercial and residential development with the strongest familiarity with multi-family design including units and amenity spaces. Strong skills include developing concepts, space planning, layout and organization, finish-fixture-furnishing selection, budgeting, scheduling and install.
What drives you to design?
Bringing the concept to reality. It's taking a sketch or an image and developing it into its own unique and creative design. My motivation is stemmed from finding that perfect end goal regardless of the design constraints.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
People! We create spaces for people to experience whether its work, home or a coffee house. Every space conveys a feeling, and every space wants to convey a specific feeling. The inspiration is in finding what the people want and how they should engage the space. It's amazing how textures, materials and geometry all play a role and how important they actually are.
Tell us your biggest design secret:
Sight lines and scale! Say you have an oddly shaped space and at first nothing seems to fit. Frustrating, right? It's like a game of Tetris that I play by finding the visual cues and defining proportions then finding the balance between the two.
