A Brooklyn, NY resident, Mary Davis is an interior designer, visual artist and stylist. She has been passionate about people, and their environments from an early age. At 8 years old, she drew plans to expand the family room, add new skylights and a comfortable work station in which to do her homework. From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
My clients! Their interests and the goals they have for their spaces (whether they want a serene and relaxing living room; or a space that is perfect for parties and entertaining, or to make a comfortable and productive office space) are what help inspire my design choices. I want to find the best possible items to improve your space and your life!
Describe your ideal project:
I'd love to design a boutique hotel. I love making spaces where people can come together to enjoy each other in groups, or for parties; and alternately steal away to more private and cozy spaces for a smaller party or for someone seeking solitude.
Tell us your biggest design secret:
The best design inspiration comes from deceptively simple places. Like: the colors in your favorite travel snapshot, or a few of your most treasured collected items. However you describe these things can help inform how you want to feel when you are in your space, and thereafter what I design for you.
