Describe your go-to style:
My "go-to" style depends on the inspiration often derived from a client. Something that I learn about a client or see in their style or home helps me to develop a vision for them. I love adding some unexpected details or elements to a design that help give it personality, such as adding a touch of Hollywood glamour, something rustic or refurbished, or even unique artwork.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
Websites such as Pinterest, Houzz, and Olioboard help keep me up to date with trends, products, and discussions in the interior design industry. I subscribe to several design publications including Interior Design, Hospitality Design, Contract, Interiors and Sources and K+BB which tend to show cutting edge projects and products. Teaching and tutoring keeps me current with technology being used to design as well as new methods, techniques and styles.
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
What I love about design is strategic problem solving and the impact I can have on clients, their environment, and even their lives. Design allows me to truly utilize both “sides of my brain” and is one of the few activities that enables me to express creativity and intellect while simultaneously helping others.
