Emily has her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with a strong design background in high end residential and custom millwork designs in the Miami area. Her true passion and calling in life is design. Since she was young she has always had a zest for conceptualizing spaces; she use to get the real estate section of the Sunday’s newspaper and trace out the floor plans so she could re-design it her own way. Design to her is important because it expresses ones feel of a space and interpretation of the functionality. She looks at new projects with a curious eye to discover its hidden beauty for the world to enjoy. Emily believes "designs are far more than an expression of taste it’s an expression of life. As life, it’s full of light and shadow, energy and form, the yin and the yang. It’s a personal intimate statement."
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
Bringing out my creativity; I have a strong eye for design and experience life visually by taking in all the elements that create our world: colors, shapes, forms, materials, etc... So with each new client it is a new experience, a new vision, a new inspiration that I am able to express my creativity through.
Tell us your biggest design secret:
My style is transitional infused with an eclectic global edge so I usually use one or two pieces from one company in a design, never will you see a room designed from one store. I love combining pieces from all over especially from small artisan companies to create a unique result.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
Not to sound cliché but traveling truly inspires me. Experiencing new cultures, landscapes, people, architecture, and art just leave me in complete wonderment.
