Eileen has a degree in Interior Design. She has worked at a furniture store creating furniture plans and for an architect focusing on architectural details. Prior to changing careers to design she practiced law for 25 years. The skills she learned as an attorney make her an even better designer as she has a real attention to detail and excellent communications skills. She is also a great listener.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
I draw it from my travels. I have been fortunate enough to travel extensively and I always come back from a trip with a new idea for interior spaces.
Tell us your biggest design secret:
Actually I have two: Draw the color palette for the room from a piece of art or fabric you love and make sure the room is visually balanced by having several small objects balance larger objects.
Describe your ideal project:
I truly love a client who knows what look they want. I don't think a designer should only design in one style but should be able to adapt to the client's style. If the client is able to articulate their aesthetic either verbally or visually, then I think it will be a successful project.
