Corrin is originally from Michigan where she worked for her Grandmother's painting and home design business from the moment she could hold a paintbrush. She would like to think that is when she was first bit with the design bug. After high school, Corrin moved to Florida and attended Miami International University of Art & Design receiving her BFA in Interior Design. Post-Grad, she moved to New York City and today, she is doing it all as a Home Designer, a Professional Organizer, and a new mom!
We know you love designing, but what about it do you love most?
I have two things! I love the initial brainstorming and mood board stage. The possibilities are endless and it is the most freeing time in design. My second favorite is that moment when I know I have created a composition. It happens at a different time with each design, but there is always one moment when I see the perfect item that pulls the whole look together. It is very satisfying!
Describe your go-to style:
Instead of a "pop of color," I love using a "pop of texture." I like to pick 3 main colors and select everything within those colors. To make it interesting, I mix up the patterns, textures and styles. It makes for a really classic look that can stand the test of time, but is also easy to change up the look with decorative accessories!
Tell us your biggest design secret:
I like to fade my decor in and out of each season. Transitioning from Autumn into Winter, I start in November by introducing chunky knit throws and fur pillows in the living room, then in December I will add in my holiday decor. Then in January, the holiday items get packed away, but I keep mercury and metallic candle holders, the fur pillows and knit throws out until Spring. I do this for each season and it keeps my home interesting. Every time guests come over, something is a little different.
