Aaliyah discovered her desire for design through her mother; who when she was nine, was a home decorator and realtor. She realized her passion would be defined as interior design in her freshman year of college. She obtained a CIDA- accredited bachelors degree in Interior Design from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Through her college career she not only learned different ranges of styles: eclectic, industrial, global, modern, etc., she also was able to create spaces that were residential and commercial, which include: business, hospitality, and education. She is more than determined to get a job done and to get it done with precision. She comes with a fresh and innovative look on design and is aware of design trends going on now.
Describe your go-to style:
My go-to style is modern eclectic. I love mixing neutral palettes with pops of color and mixing textures.
What drives you to design?
Knowing that I not only create beautiful spaces, but can also affect how someone feels in them, makes me want to create spaces for people that will make them feel more: happy, confident, or fun, drives me to design.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
I draw most of my inspiration from nature when designing; but if not nature than usually a concept, for example playful or strength, something that does not have an obtainable vision, but can be created once you put the right imagination and creativity to it.
