Karin has 20 years of experience as a designer working with established design agencies, and as an independent designer and consultant. She has lived in many countries and gathers inspiration and ideas from these international locations. Karin is passionate about creating simple, useful and beautiful designs that deliver meaningful experiences; she believes that design makes a difference in how well we live our lives. Karin has worked on projects across residential and commercial sectors, including hospitality.

What drives you to design?

Every design project is different. It's a new challenge; a new puzzle to solve. I love being able to take a clean or messy slate and turn it into a beautiful and functional space that makes my client happy.

From where do you draw most of your inspiration?

I follow other designers, brands and trends on social media; I walk around interesting neighborhoods such as Brooklyn, to see new things and get ideas; I browse through interior magazines, I read about the history of design and I love to visit/stay at hotels to get ideas for a space.
