For Decorilla designer,&nbsp;<a style=\"text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-interior-designers\/joyce-t-6\">Joyce T<\/a>, who was asked to stage a space in the NYC&nbsp;neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant,&nbsp;this meant&nbsp;she needed to be&nbsp;creative and budget savvy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hired by exclusive broker, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonimartinassociates.com\/opalaxiscondos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Toni Martin<\/a> of Corcoran, Joyce&#8217;s challenge was to stretch a small $7K budget to outfit a 3 bedroom apartment in a new building by Urban View Development. Joyce shares&nbsp;&#8220;<span class=\"s1\">Since it&#8217;s a trending area of Brooklyn (as most of Brooklyn is),&nbsp;the design needed to&nbsp;fit the neighborhood trend&nbsp;and the profile of potential buyers.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"s1\">We&#8217;re going to show you how she did it!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Joyce first focused&nbsp;on finding a few statement furniture pieces to transform the space. She relied on Apt Deco&#8217;s innovative selling platform for&nbsp;gently used furniture to purchase&nbsp;at least one piece per room. Her favorite purchase: a set of 4 Callagaris Italian leather chairs (which would cost +$1,200 brand new) from a local Brooklyner for only&nbsp;$180. She sourced other&nbsp;stylish pieces from&nbsp;<\/span><wp-block data-block=\"core\/more\"><\/wp-block><span class=\"s1\">the local Fort Greene flea market, Wayfair, Home Depot, and Target.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/apt-deco-before-after.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"958\" height=\"589\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/apt-deco-before-after.png\" alt=\"apt deco before &amp; after\" class=\"wp-image-1680\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/apt-deco-before-after.png 958w, https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/apt-deco-before-after-300x184.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 958px) 100vw, 958px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the master bedroom,&nbsp;she&nbsp;purchased a beautiful, yet affordable&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wayfair.com\/Stacy-King-Platform-Bed-MOD-5233-FOW2512.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Modway platform king bed<\/a>&nbsp;from Wayfair as the large focal point of the room.&nbsp;Then, she adorned with soft furnishings like throws and pillows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kosciuszko_Kitchen-to-Living.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"694\" height=\"463\" src=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kosciuszko_Kitchen-to-Living.jpg\" alt=\"Kosciuszko_Kitchen to Living\" class=\"wp-image-1678\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kosciuszko_Kitchen-to-Living.jpg 694w, https:\/\/www.decorilla.com\/online-decorating\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Kosciuszko_Kitchen-to-Living-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 694px) 100vw, 694px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Joyce also added in a few&nbsp;personal DIY touches to the home&nbsp;to make it easy for&nbsp;potential buyers to&nbsp;imagine themselves living there.&nbsp;These touches&nbsp;included a&nbsp;large painting in the master bedroom painted by&nbsp;Joyce&nbsp;herself and&nbsp;a&nbsp;set of four paintings in the guest bedroom which&nbsp;were painted by her architect friend, Laurel Christenson. Here are a few tips to help you do the same:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Look for deals on great statement furniture and don&#8217;t always shy away from something used (keep in mind, everything can be refinished or repainted!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Use inexpensive paint and greenery as ways to fill your space with color and natural beauty<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Get creative!
