Additional comments to designers

The space is long but not very wide, we are finding it hard to visualize a functional and stylish combined living and dining layout. The front door will be replaced with something much more contemporary/modern in style. Flooring is white porcelain tile, will probably need area rugs to help define the spaces, however rugs cannot be high pile or shag style, for whatever reason our cats can't resist peeing on that type of rug, low pile rugs are fine. Not particularly interested in having a TV in this space.

Combined Living/Dining:

Since your room has the white shiny tile all throughout, using a dark and rich color will make it feel cozy, warm, and lounge-like

For your main color, we chose to use gray because it is neutral and seen as elegant and classy. It compliments many colors such as white, blue, and yellow and works well as part of a color scheme in any room.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
