Combo living and dining room; was 2 rooms but wall was removed. Intricate ceilings but prefer more modern in a non-modern space. Looking for help on colors (want to go dark!). The room does not feel finished. There are too many hard lines, need some draperies to soften the edges and need to add color. Interested in dark walls, somewhat of a midnight blue. I have beautiful ceiling details.(picture coming) I would like a new sofa and area rug, open to more seating. My design style is a modern library, masculine with a hint of femininity to contrast the the hard lines of modernism. I want a home that feels comfortable and welcoming. The window bring in a lot of light throughout the day. I definitely need new lighting fixtures that are cohesive but not two of the same. There are built-ins on each side of fireplace I will be keeping my artwork, but may move some around. I would like the large 32" x 32" painting to move over the fireplace. What pieces of existing furniture, lighting, art or accessories do you want to keep in the design?
There are a few pieces of furniture I would like in the space. 1. Coffee Table 36" Diameter
2. Dining Table 48" Diameter
3. Two Side Chairs 28" H v 30" W (would like recovered)
4. Large Plant

Since your room is smaller using a dark and rich color will make it feel cozy, warm, and lounge-like
For your main color, we chose to use dark blue because it is authoritative, sophisticated, and powerful. It is a good neutral counterpart to any other color.
