Beautiful Coastal Living Room Project Description
hi! we recently bought a beach house - looking for help with the living room + dining nook. we tend to like transitional styles and we want it to definitely feel beachy, modern and cozy. We're also open to fun, funky elements with pops of color too [we're pretty open to what that pop of color should be!]. it's important to note that we have a small child so no sharp edged or glass coffee tables. also, in the off-season we will be renting it out so we want a couch [and maybe chairs] that has a slipcover we can change out. i am open to painting the fireplace and also adding a reclaimed wood floating mantel. we also definitely want to mount our flat screen tv on either a wall with a swivel mount or fireplace [as long as it isn't too difficult to do so]. we bought the home with the contents in it so you will see some interesting stuff in the photos - most of it we've already donated. we are open to your recommendation in terms of how many people can sit comfortably in the dining room - if we can have 8 at the table, that's great. We would love to be able to fit 6-8 in living room. as you will see in my colors and photo inspirations, I have a vibe in mind but also want help thinking beyond my comfort zone - i don't want to be too prescriptive. Combined Living/Dining:
Since your room is smaller using a light and pale color will enhance the light and the space in your room
For your main color, we chose to use blue because it is calming, relaxing, and serene. It ris reminiscent of blue skies and deep blue oceans. This color works well in bedrooms and can help turn your space into a soothing sanctuary.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
